Piazza's Artspace in Brussels
Nick Defour (1988, Halle) is a versatile artist. Performances, poetry, visual art, music, and often a combination of these shape his artistic oeuvre. The artist himself is always a key figure in his work. He tries to question his status as an artist and get to a better understanding of the world at large.
InBetween invited Defour to engage with the work of Duane Hanson. With ‘Masquerade à la Grecque‘ Defour confronts the hyperrealism of Duane Hanson, and in particular the key work ‘Queenie‘ with a performance inspired by a 18th century print from the eponymous work by Ennemond Alexandre Petitot.
